In the Win Column

The women's basketball team notched their first win of the year with a 74-65 win over Langara.

This is the first win for the women's team since January 2008 and first for second year head coach Jay Duke.

"We got off to a bit of a slow start tonight, but I really happy with the way we executed near the end of the second quarter and that momentum carried through the game", commented Duke.  "We still have a lot of work ahead of us, but its nice for these players to finally get a win."

The 'Cats trailed 18-8 after the first quarter but outscored Langara 30-17 in the second to lead 38-35 at half.  CBC was led by second year guard Nicole Duke who had 21 points and Cleopatra Lanyero who added 15 points.

CBC concludes their exhibition schedule October 30 at Kwantlen before starting league play November 6 at home against Camosun.
