Back to winning ways


The CBC men's basketball team played their best basketball since the Christmas break, defeating visiting Northwest Indian College 75-73 in exhibition play.

Despite being down 44-30 at the half, the 'Cats overcame the deficit midway through the fourth quarter and outscored the visitors 26-14 in the final frame.  The comeback was highlighted by an alley-oop dunk by first year forward Chris Thompson the sent the Columbia Place crowd into a frenzy.

Leading the way for the Bearcats was Karl Toews with a season high 32 points.  Marcus Krahn and Thompson chipped in with 10 and 11 points.  Thompson also led the team with 13 boards.

Overall, the Bearcats out rebounded NWIC 54-48. 

This was the first ever meeting between the two schools...Northwest Indian College is located in Bellingham , WA.

Next weekend the 'Cats travel to VIU in Nanaimo to take on the #1 nationally ranked mariners.
