Making history


The women's volleyball team swept the VIU Mariners 3-0 on Friday, while the men lost 3-2.

The 'Cats win marks the first time the women's volleyball program has defeated the Mariners.  Scores of the match were 27-25, 28-26, 25-23.  The win improves CBC's record to 6-5 while the Mariners drop to 6-4.

On the men's side, the 'Cats built a 2-1 set lead and had match serve in the fourth set, only to see the resilient Mariners battle back to forth a fifth and deciding set.  Scores of the match were 25-21, 22-25, 20-25, 26-24, 15-11 in favour of the Mariners.

Both teams battle again on Saturday, with the women playing at 1pm followed by the men at 2:45.
