Did you know that 240 of our students are involved in weekly ministry involvement throughout the Fraser
Valley?
This year our students are serving:
· as Big Brothers and Big Sisters in the school system, meeting with children during recess
and lunch breaks to talk about family life, to play games, and to provide positive role models for these children;
· as coaches for youth community basketball programs, running drills and plays with youth,
while also teaching life skills and providing encouragement;
· as friendly visitors to seniors’ residences, playing bingo and classical guitar, painting
nails and hearing the individual’s life stories (sometimes repeatedly…);
· as guides in the outdoor, providing leadership for high school Outdoor Education programs,
encouraging youth to climb that mountain, even when they don’t want to;
· as Bible study leaders, Sunday school teachers, and youth group sponsors, at over 45
churches;
· as clothes sorters, furniture restorers, and cashiers at MCC Thrift store, assisting in
the big picture of MCC’s ministry;
· as prep and packaging specialists at the local Gleaners Society, providing dried soup mix
and dried fruit snacks for the hungry of the world;
· and the list goes on…
